Construction in the neighborhood brings sounds and
sights quite out of the ordinary -- hammers, saws, trucks, dumpsters, cranes, piles of building materials,
and portable toilets, just to name a few. Workers'
trucks and private cars may complicate the parking
situation on your block.
Noise and inconvenience are
inevitable, but temporary. The Manhattan Beach City
Council has taken steps to help minimize the
inconvenience during construction, and reduce the
possibility of conflict between the construction
companies and the neighboring residents.
In October 2005, City Council approved a new position
called the Residential Construction Officer (RCO)
to be the proactive liaison between builders, neighbors,
and appropriate City departments and agencies.
The Manhattan Beach
Residential Construction Officer is assigned to handle
questions and concerns regarding construction in
Manhattan Beach, CA. The office is open Monday
through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You may contact the
Manhattan Beach Residential Construction Officer at
(310) 802-5506 or by
e-mail.
